Why it lasts.

We carry Wild Mountain Child because these are real tools, not toy-shaped props: hand-carved, hand-sanded, and hand-polished from Doussie plantation timber by Vietnamese artisans in a traditional craft village, finished in food-grade oil, and designed in Australia by a mother who watched her own child's sensory play and built the tools it was missing. No two are the same, and that is the point.

Who it's for

For the parent
The deep one: carries a whole handful of treasures from the garden to the kitchen in one trip.
For the educator
A transfer and carrying tool with real capacity, for loose parts, water play, and collection walks.
For the gift-giver
The workhorse gift: a hand-carved paddle that hauls crystals, mud, and imagination in equal measure.

Ways to play.

Haul crystals from the dig site, ferry flowers to the potion pot, scoop sand and mud in real quantity, and unload it all into the Treasure Bowl.

Details

Materials & construction

Hand-carved, hand-sanded, and hand-polished from Doussie, a Vietnamese plantation timber, then finished with food-grade oil. Free of harmful chemicals, paints, and toxins, with a smooth, splinter-free finish. Grain and carving vary piece to piece; that variation is the handwork showing, not a defect.

Care & storage

Play in water is fine; just don't leave it submerged for days. Towel-dry after wet play, refresh the wood now and then with a rub of beeswax or vegetable oil, use only mild dish soap if needed, and never the dishwasher.
