A tinker tray of woodland treasures: pebbles, rocks, cone trees, twigs, toadstools, leaves, acorns, beetles, a snail, a moth, tunnel pieces, and a bird's egg.

The lid flips into a chalkboard, and the compartments lift out so the box can be filled with sand. It won Silver for Best Eco Toy at the 2021 Junior Design Awards.

Suited to children aged three and up, through the Pre-K and early primary years.

Why it lasts.

We carry Tender Leaf because they build little worlds with a conscience: designed in England under award-winning toy designer Danielle Hanson, handcrafted by an ethical family-run workshop in Indonesia from reclaimed rubberwood, and finished in toxic-free, water-based paints. For every toy sold, they plant a tree. A world in every box, and a tree in the ground behind it.

Ways to play.

Sort the treasures into the compartments, then tip them out and build a forest floor on the chalkboard lid. Fill the box with sand for a woodland scene that changes every time.

My two-year-old granddaughter loves this toy and so do I! We’ve only had it for a couple days, but it’s already been a huge hit. She loves sorting all the pieces and rearranging everything. Tender relief toys are great; they’re always a favorite!

Materials & construction

Wipe clean with a damp cloth and dry. No soaking and no dishwasher.

Kept out of direct sun, the water-based colors hold their softness for years.
