We carry the Fairyshadow star babies because a child will keep a small, soft friend they can carry everywhere. Each one is sewn by hand from cotton knit velour and filled with clean wool, with a face embroidered one stitch at a time. There is nothing printed or plastic to wear out, just a gentle little companion made to be pocketed, loved, and passed along.

Materials & construction

Each Fairyshadow star baby is sewn and finished by hand in a small studio in Bodega, California, in limited batches. It is made from cotton knit velour, 80% cotton and 20% polyester, and stuffed with clean wool, so it is soft and gently weighted in the hand.

Unlike the drawn-face Fairyshadow dolls, the star baby's features are embroidered by hand, so each little face is a bit different. It comes in an assortment of rainbow colors and three skin tones (peach, tan, and brown), and the exact color you receive varies with what is on hand.

Small parts. Intended for ages 3 and up, and young children should be supervised during play.

Care & storage

Spot clean only with a barely damp cloth, and let it air dry fully. Do not machine wash, soak, or submerge, since the wool and velour hold water. Keep it out of direct sun to protect the colors, and store somewhere dry. Small parts, not for children under 3, and supervise young children during play.
