Late summer. We will email you the moment it ships.

A grand wooden house with the doors already on. Two open floors, a staircase between them, a chimney up top, and a little balcony sized for a mouse or a doll to take in the view. Move a family in and the stories start before anything is even arranged.

Every room is open to play from the side, so small hands can reach in to set a scene, send someone up the stairs, or wave from the balcony. It is the kind of house that becomes home base for whatever world a child is building.

Why it lasts.

Drewart builds this in European alder with a natural linseed-oil finish and no varnish, so the grain shows and the surface wears in over years of use. It arrives fully assembled, with a pitched roof, a chimney, and a balcony, all hand-shaped, so no two houses are exactly alike. It is made to be a fixture of the playroom, handed from one child to the next.

Who it's for

For the parent
At home it becomes the stage for everything: families, visitors, bedtimes, and the small dramas children work out through play. The open floors and staircase let your child set scenes and move dolls from room to room, and the balcony is the favorite spot. It is heirloom-solid and earns its place in the playroom for years.
For the educator
In the classroom it anchors dramatic and small-world play, where children act out social situations, try on different roles, and talk through feelings using a house they can see into. The open rooms, stairs, and balcony invite storytelling, perspective-taking, and cooperative play, and it is built for daily classroom use.
For the gift-giver
It is the heirloom gift, the dollhouse that looks as good in the playroom as it plays. Fully assembled, beautifully simple, and open enough to furnish however a child imagines. It suits the family that wants one lasting wooden house rather than a plastic one, and it grows with the child instead of being outgrown.

Ways to play.

Move a family in, send someone up the stairs, and set the scene in each open room. Host a visitor at the door, wave from the balcony, and play out the morning, the meal, and the bedtime. Rearrange the rooms, change who lives there, and the house begins a new story every time.

Pairs with the Drewart Camper Van, Natural and the Drewart Kitchen, Natural for a whole little Drewart world.

Details

Materials & construction

The Drewart Dollhouse is made from European alder, a close-grained hardwood, with a natural linseed-oil finish and no varnish, so the grain shows and the wood can be re-oiled over the years. The roof and doors are finished natural, and every house is hand-shaped, so small variations are normal.

Drewart has worked in wood for more than forty years, crafting its toys in Poland. Every piece is hand-shaped, so the grain, knots, and finish vary slightly from one to the next. Drewart toys are CE marked, tested to the European toy safety standard EN 71, and made from FSC-certified wood from responsibly managed forests.

Care & storage

Wipe clean with a dry or barely damp cloth, then dry it right away. Do not soak the wood or leave it sitting in water, since standing moisture can raise the grain or loosen a joint over time. If the wood ever looks dry or pale, rub in a little food-safe oil, such as linseed or a board oil, and buff off the excess. Store it somewhere dry and out of direct sun or a hot radiator, which can fade or crack natural wood. Small marks and a softening patina are normal on an oiled, unvarnished toy and are part of how it ages.
