Each felt fairy house is hand-felted in women’s fair-trade cooperatives, working at their own pace with 100% natural sheep's wool, non-AZO dyes, and in Fair Trade conditions. The little folk come from Wonderheart (US), Magic Wood (Poland), and Grapat (Spain). Built slowly, and built to be handed down.
What a Village Is
Small enough to carry. Large enough to live inside for an afternoon.
A fairy village is small enough to carry and large enough to live inside for an afternoon. Felt homes with petal roofs and embroidered doors, little wooden folk in stitched hoods, a round wool mat with a carrot garden growing through it. Together they make one world a young child sets up, rearranges, and returns to. There are no batteries. There are no instructions. There is no right way to play. The tending is the play.
Every house here is needle-felted by hand in the Kathmandu valley workshops. The wool keeps a child's body heat the way a real cottage does. The petal roofs curl a little differently on every piece. That difference is the work.

A fairy village wants its animals: a deer family wandering past, a fox at the treeline, a hedgehog in the leaves. Handcrafted Bumbu woodland animal families live a volume away in Section Three, Woodland. They move into the felt village naturally.
